Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, evidence based method for engaging clients in a self-examination of the issues they face, and development of their motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence about changing. It is being used with considerable success throughout the MA residential and outpatient treatment and recovery system.
This 5-day training series is designed for teams of up to 4 people (one of whom must be in a supervisory role with the others) from any agency/service programs who want to learn, in depth, how to implement MI and sustain its use over time.

There will be brief breaks during each of the days listed above.
Special Note for Supervisors Who Have Attended This Training Series Before: Supervisors who have personally participated in Round 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or ATR Round 1 of this training series (Round 1 began in September, 2009) with Dr. Broffman and who directly supervised clinical staff who want to attend this series may sign on as Team Leader for their staff, and then participate in a portion of the 5 day program. Supervisors who have already been trained are exempt from attending Day 1 and Day 2. They must attend Day 3 (AM & PM) and Day 4 (AM only) with their team members. They may elect to attend Day 5, but are not required to do so.
