Transforming MSW Field Learning

  • This is an online event. (map)

This is the fourth in the Child and Family Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Consortium's Janus webinar series for MSW faculty and programs. It is informed by the Consortium's study of evidence based practice in North American MSW curricula (Bertram, Charnin, Kerns, & Long, 2015). The Council on Social Work Education describes field learning as its ""signature pedagogy"". But, most MSW programs do not adjust field curricula to ensure that EBP and implementation science are integrated in students' professional development. This webinar presents practical examples of how this is occurring in:

1.Transformation of child welfare field curricula at the University of Missouri-Kansas City National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI) university partnership grant site.

2. Use of implementation science to integrate evidence based trauma treatment through multiple universities working with the National Center for Social Work Trauma Education and Workforce Development

3. Washington University's George Warren Brown School of Social Work evidence based practice model in field practica.
